A compilation of three volumes of church records for Sinking Baptist Church in Carter County, Tennessee can be found in this publication. The first volume covers the years 1787-1791, followed by the years 1794-1803 in volume II, and then finally the years 1803-1879, each with a full-name index. This work includes a register of members in each volume, as well as a sketch of the church.During church meetings, members would come forward to express concerns and requests. Everything from pray requests to weekly business were included in the church minutes. Suspected immoral behavior was reported and the charges were made public.
