After a botched bank robbery, four small-time criminals hit the road, looking to get away from the heat. But as the crew flees Colorado for California, the guilt of what they've done refuses to be left behind. When they meet up with their old partner and learn about Pacheco Pass, a long stretch of desert highway famous for its ghost sightings, the group wrestles with whether the visions they're seeing are hallucinations of conscience or vengeful spirits hungry for justice.
