Workshops sind im Vorfeld konzipierte, moderiete Arbeitstreffen, bei denen sich Teilnehmende außerhalb der organisationalen Regelinteraktion einer eingegrenzten Thematik widmen. In der Moderatoren- und Berater-Branche hat sich in den letzten Jahren ein Paradigmenwechsel in der Planung und Durchführung von Workshops ausgebildet. Nach dem neuen Paradigma werden Workshops als Elemente in breiter angelegten  Interaktionsplänen verstanden, in welchen sie durch ihnen gleichrangige Interaktionsanlässe wie  Kontraktgespräche, Sondierungsinterviews oder Großkonferenzen ergänzt werden. Insbesondere dort, wo  Workshops auf organisationale Veränderungen zielen, werden sie in eine umfassendere Veränderungsarchitektur  eingebettet. It is widely accepted that the Viking Age (c. 800-1050) stimulated the development of long-distance, regional and local trade and exchange networks. The clearest archaeological evidence for these contacts is mainly in the form of silver artefacts predominantly found in hoards in Northern and Central Europe - the Baltic zone. However, beyond occasional national- or regional-level research, there have been no attempts at a historically guided comparative archaeological survey of the Baltic zone as a whole.

By investigating silver hoards and the context of their deposition, Viking Silver, Hoards and Containers seeks to understand the variety of functions performed by hoards; the differences in function within regions; the hoards' relationship with trade; and the nature and function of emporia. It also examines the extent to which the findings mesh with literary evidence and the nature of the different societies benefiting from the influx of silver in the Viking Age. While the parallels between chimp brutality and human brutality are easy to see, de Waal suggests that the conciliatory bonobo is just as legitimate a model to study when we explore our primate heritage. He even connects humanity's desire for fairness and its morality with primate behavior, offering a view of society that contrasts markedly with the caricature people have of Darwinian evolution. It's plain that our finest qualities run deeper in our DNA than experts have previously thought.

Welche Darstellungen des Judentums - gerade auch in seinen Bezügen zum Christentum - gibt es im schulischen Raum? Mit Blick auf Schulbücher und Unterricht der Fächer katholische und evangelische Religion sowie Werte und Normen in Niedersachsen kommt dieses Buch zu dem Schluss, dass sich schon vieles verändert hat und das Judentum einerseits sehr sichtbar ist, dass es aber gleichzeitig diskursiv marginalisiert wird. Trotz einer wertschätzenden Darstellung tragen bestimmte Konstruktionsmodi dazu bei, dass das Judentum im Vergleich zum Christentum subtil herabgesetzt wird. Der Band beschreibt Mechanismen, die dazu beitragen können, antijüdische Muster latent zu tradieren, zeigt aber auch Best-Practice-Beispiele für die Bildungspraxis.

How is Judaism depicted in school education today-especially in relation to Christianity? In its examination of religious education and ethics teaching and textbooks in Lower Saxony, Germany, this book concludes that while much has already changed and Judaism is very present it is nevertheless still marginalised. Despite a generally sympathetic and respectful portrayal, certain structural elements lead to Judaism being subtly disparaged in comparison to Christianity. The volume describes construction mechanisms that may contribute to the latent transmission of anti-Jewish patterns, but also shows examples of best practice in education.
