Bellweather House was everything Claire Bennett needed: a grand Victorian on a quiet Concord street and a fresh start after a painful divorce. Then a stray German Shepherd followed her home in a rainstorm.

Lucky was supposed to be a companion. Instead, he became a warning. From the moment he arrived, Lucky fixated on a single wall in the upstairs office - standing at it, listening, and refusing to leave. Claire told herself it was nothing. Old houses made strange sounds. Dogs had strange habits.
