Ethics

Benedictus de Spinoza's Ethics is one of the supreme monuments of early modern philosophy, composed in a rigorous geometrical style of definitions, axioms, propositions, and scholia. Its argument moves from metaphysics to psychology and ethics, identifying God with Nature, rejecting providential anthropomorphism, and explaining human bondage through inadequate ideas and the passions.
