Semiotics Study in Selected Literary Texts

The word Semiotics means 'sign' or 'mark'. And semiotics as a science is the study of sign. Our life is filled with various types of signs, in the street, brands, painting, advertising, mathematics, films, sounds, music, languages, words, traffic signs, images, fashion, architecture, literature, cartoons, and logos or forms of behaviour. Thus, the researcher intends to show the importance of semiotics via applying the American philosopher Charles Peirce's semiotics theory on two modern novels, a short story, and a play.

Doaa Taher Matrood is a holder of B.A. in English language from Kufa University, an MA from AL_Qadisiyah and a phD from FUM University. She already has two published books, more than 10 published articles and attended a bunch of international conferences.
