How do power constellations form in educational institutions? In her book, Ulrike Sell analyses communication and interaction in schools and daycare centres based on the concept of the pedagogical self. She locates the pedagogical self between discipline and profession on the one hand and between negation, (re)production and reflection on the other. The author examines this relationship on the basis of empirical snapshots from the perspectives of communication, recognition and professionalism theory, as well as with regard to generationality and adultism.
