Surviving an Acoustic Neuroma

On June 29, 2024, my life changed forever.

What began as balance problems and unexplained symptoms led to the discovery of a giant acoustic neuroma brain tumor compressing my brainstem.

Within weeks, I underwent multiple brain surgeries. What followed was a devastating series of complications including facial paralysis, aspiration pneumonia, respiratory failure, a tracheostomy, a feeding tube, months of hospitalization, and a long road through rehabilitation.

At thirty years old, I went from living independently and building my career to relearning how to walk, eat, smile, and navigate a world that suddenly felt unfamiliar.

Surviving an Acoustic Neuroma is a deeply personal memoir about resilience, grief, recovery, and finding hope after life changes in an instant. Through honest reflections, medical challenges, setbacks, and small victories, I share what it was like to face one of the most difficult chapters of my life and the lessons I learned along the way.

This is a story for anyone facing illness, disability, loss, uncertainty, or recovery-and for the family members, friends, and caregivers who walk beside them.
