Dr. Annekathrin Kohout is a cultural studies scholar and freelance writer. She is a co-editor of the "Digitale Bildkulturen" (Digital Image Cultures) series (Wagenbach) and the journal *POP*. As a non-fiction author, she writes about internet culture, nerds, and K-pop. In addition to holding teaching positions at various universities, she serves on international advisory boards, including those of the Goethe-Institut and AICA. POP: A Visual History is her first children's book.
