»Knowledge, Corporate Attribution and Public Disclosure of Inside Information«The thesis deals with the question of when an issuer, in the context of its obligation to publicly disclose inside information pursuant to Art. 17 MAR and Sec. 97 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG), can be held responsible for the knowledge of individual board members or employees. The study also addresses the problem of inside information which originate in other group companies and the question if the issuer and its members must contribute to a disclosure of their own (criminal) misconduct.

Christoph Breuer studied law at the University of Mainz. He passed his first legal state examination in 2013. Between 2013 and 2015 Christoph completed his legal clerkship with stages at the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce an Industry (Johannesburg) and a law firm in New York City. After passing his second state examination, Christoph started working as a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the chair of Prof. Dr. Dirk A. Verse, M.Jur. (Oxford) in Mainz in 2016 and in Heidelberg from 2018. From 2019 to 2020 he worked as a lawyer at an international law firm in Frankfurt a.M. Afterwards Christoph returned to the chair of Prof. Dr. Verse in Heidelberg as a research assistant.
