Artikelbeschreibung

Hans Albert analyzes the ideological content of economic thinking expressed in the idea of imputation which is characteristic of the theory of marginal utility. He subjects nomologization and the axiologization of the concept of equilibrium as well as the mention of the equilibrium price system associated with it to a criticism which shows that this theory has no explicative or normative value, and that it is an ideologically interpretable system. The economic argument in the ordoliberal debate falls back on this theory. The author shows that the development of welfare economics involved a considerable amount of self-criticism. However, there are still arguments to be found in the discussion on day to day politics which originate from the economic ideology described here. In the second part of the work, there is a revision of the author's previous comments on ordoliberal problems, a revision which is due to a change in his philosophical views.
