From the Earth to the Moon and Round the Moon

What begins as an impossible dream soon becomes one of the boldest experiments ever attempted. In From the Earth to the Moon, the members of the Baltimore Gun Club set themselves an extraordinary challenge: to build a cannon powerful enough to launch a projectile to the Moon. Their audacious plan attracts engineers, adventurers, and public fascination, culminating in a voyage unlike anything the world has ever seen.Round the Moon continues the adventure as the travellers leave Earth behind and journey through the unknown reaches of space, confronting danger, uncertainty, and the astonishing spectacle of the lunar world.Blending scientific speculation, humour, adventure, and visionary imagination, these two novels showcase Jules Verne at his most inventive-a sweeping tale of ambition, ingenuity, exploration, and humanity's enduring desire to reach beyond the limits of the possible.
